They provide strategic leadership and advocacy for all international programs and projects, and coordinate resources necessary to sustain growth. The goal is to enable as many students, faculty, and staff as possible to pursue international and intercultural knowledge and experiences.Job SummaryDepartment‑Specific Responsibilities:Collects and distributes daily e‑forms to student advisors.Creates, edits, and maintains internal documentation for daily tasks and templated messaging.At the direction of the Assistant Director, serves as a resource for international students and scholars who visit the office in person.May take on additional tasks or projects to contribute to the overall success of the team.General Responsibilities:Serves as primary point of contact in‑person, by phone, and by email for international students and scholars, academic departments, and other clients with requests for services and information related to immigration regulations and OIS procedures.Reviews and responds to a broad range of inquiries from students and scholars, including relevant immigration policies, documents, and regulations related to full‑time enrollment, practical training, employment and work authorizations, SSN applications, travel, expiring immigration documents, scholar check‑in, etc. Works with appropriate staff to ensure that client needs are met efficiently.Collects and administers initial review of various documents and e‑forms for international students, scholars, and departments.Makes judgment calls on the proper level of service, is sensitive to deadlines and timing issues related to immigration regulations, and assists in appointment scheduling, as appropriate. Maintains working knowledge of immigration regulations and procedures.Monitors and processes a variety of e‑forms and other requests from international students and scholars. Troubleshoots issues clients encounter and explains how to navigate the systems, use checklists, and submit e‑forms.Assists in training new staff on university and office policies and procedures, and basic immigration information, as appropriate (or as assigned).Provides general administrative support to the Office of International Services and other special projects and duties as assigned.QualificationsCombinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience.
