    Description

    Responsible for working as a member of the International Programs department by providing student advising, particularly for the DBA, EMBA, MSCS and MSN programs as well as future programs. Additionally provides administrative management to the program and department. The position assists to ensure the University is staying in compliance with F-1 rules and regulations. This is a university-wide position.

    Essential Functions:

    • Serve the International Programs Office in both a strategic and administrative role.
    • Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) which is approved by the Student Exchange and Visitor Program (SEVP). DSO responsibilities include generating I-20s, updating SEVIS records and entering CPT.
    • Maintain working knowledge of the federal F-1 rules and regulations for student advising and support the Director of International Programs in maintaining compliance.
    • Advise international students on immigration regulations, visa requirements, enrollment status, employment eligibility, and travel documentation.
    • Provide F-1 student advising by responding to student inquiries both via email, video, phone, and face-to-face. This includes processing documents and advising.
    • Maintain confidential student records and ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations.
    • Monitor student enrollment and academic progress, communicating with students regarding deadlines and compliance requirements.
    • Develop and distribute informational materials, presentations, and communications related to international student services.
    • Provide customer service support to the International Programs Office as needed.
    • Attend weekend residency sessions every sixteen weeks, sometimes every eight weeks, for the above-mentioned graduate programs. This includes attending and facilitating New Student Orientation (occurs every eight weeks). Also includes generating I-20s for new students and responding to student inquiries. May require travel to campuses outside of Kansas.
    • When able, attend NAFSA conferences and the Kansas International Educators (KIE) conference on an annual basis.
    • Support the Director of International Programs in maintaining a positive working relationship with all external partners.

    ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB (35%)

    • Process applications and admissions documents for graduate partner programs including the DBA, EMBA, MSN and MSCS. Includes participating in international transcript evaluation.
    • Generates reports in SEVIS, SEVIS registration, and ensuring SEVIS records are managed effectively.
    • Collect and process onboarding documents for the above-mentioned graduate programs.
    • Manage program communications including welcome emails within JRM and serve as JRM liaison.
    • Update department records at the beginning of each 8-week term for the above-mentioned graduate programs.
    • Work effectively with all other departments and staff members to coordinate department responsibilities assuring all required duties are complete and be a team player supporting the workload of those with whom you work as able and needed.
    • Facilitate and communicate effectively with all offices and departments who work collaboratively with and on behalf of International Programs.
    • Assist with various projects as assigned by the Director of International Programs.
    • Other duties as assigned
