Our Opportunity

South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) seeks candidates for the position of International Summer Camp Program Support Aid (Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 3). This position is temporary and part-time, and you will work no more than 69 hours per month. The temporary Summer Program Support Aide provides administrative and program support for SPSCCs international summer short-term programs. This position helps create a positive, well-organized experience for participating students and supports the colleges mission by promoting student success and access to global educational opportunities.

What Youll Do

Duty: Program Support Aid

Tasks include:

  • Support the English instructor and Program staff in creating a flexible and fun summer program experience and class environment for learning and personal growth for international students to learn English and explore the Pacific Northwest

  • Support students as they work in small groups in preparation for program field experiences

  • Ask students about specific topics or subject areas to encourage group participation and further exploration

  • Help to maintain an organized, safe, and disciplined summer program experience

  • Employ proven study aides, student & personal development and mentoring strategies to ensure students are supported in achieving the program's learning outcomes

  • Communicate with chaperones and program staff about trouble areas or any other issues that require attention in program scheduling to maintain a safe and supervised learning environment

Qualifications You Possess

  • High school diploma or equivalent and experience providing customer service, administrative support, or program assistance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to stay organized, manage multiple tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately complete assigned tasks.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and program participants.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for students from diverse cultural, educational, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and represent SPSCC in a professional and positive manner.

Conditions of Part-Time Employment

Non-permanent employees under WAC 357-19-435 are authorized to work for up to 18 months from the original date of hire. Employment with the college could end at any time.
