Compensation

$310,000 – $390,000+

A premier global law firm is seeking an International Trade Associate Attorney to join its Washington, DC office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing multinational corporations, financial institutions, private equity sponsors, defense contractors, technology companies, and global manufacturers on sophisticated international trade, sanctions, export controls, and national security matters.

Ideal Background

3–6 years of international trade, national security, export controls, sanctions, or customs experience gained at a sophisticated law firm, government agency, or in-house legal department

• Experience advising clients regarding U.S. export controls, economic sanctions, customs compliance, import and export regulations, and international trade laws

• Experience counseling clients on Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) compliance

• Experience conducting internal investigations, compliance audits, voluntary self-disclosures, risk assessments, and regulatory due diligence

• Experience supporting cross-border mergers & acquisitions, private equity transactions, supply chain matters, and other international business transactions

• Experience responding to government investigations, enforcement actions, licensing matters, and regulatory inquiries is preferred

• Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters while maintaining significant client interaction

• Excellent academic credentials

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

DC bar admission required or ability to become admitted
