    Job Description:

    The International Trade Compliance Specialist II is responsible for independently managing assigned trade compliance programs, processes, and workstreams in support of the company's global import and export compliance programs. This role serves as a subject matter resource to business stakeholders, performing complex trade compliance analysis, evaluating regulatory requirements, identifying compliance risks, and providing practical, risk-based recommendations to support business objectives.The International Trade Compliance Specialist II partners closely with Supply Chain, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, Legal, customs brokers, and government agencies to drive compliant trade operations, strengthen internal controls, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The role is expected to exercise independent judgment, lead compliance projects, support audits and assessments, and provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members, as appropriate.The Trade Compliance Specialist II may support import and export activities across North America and other international markets and may focus on specific areas of responsibility, including U.S.-Mexico trade operations, global import compliance, customs operations, duty optimization, and regulatory compliance initiatives

    Responsibilities:

    • Independentlymanageassignedtradecomplianceworkstreamsandcomplianceinitiatives.
    • Conductcomplexanalysesinvolvingtariffclassification,customsvaluation,countryoforigin,tradeagreementqualification,andotherregulatoryrequirements.
    • Evaluatecompliancerisksandproviderecommendationstosupportinformedbusinessdecisions.
    • Reviewandapprovetradecompliancedata,documentation,andcustomsprocesseswithinassignedareasofresponsibility.
    • Leadpost-entryactivities,includingcorrections,reconciliations,protests,refunds,disclosures,anddutyoptimizationopportunities.
    • Serveasakeypointofcontactforcustomsbrokers,governmentagencies,andbusinessstakeholdersoncomplextradecompliancematters.
    • Monitorregulatorydevelopmentsandassessoperationalimpacts,providingrecommendationsandimplementationguidance.
    • AdviseSupplyChain,Procurement,Sourcing,Manufacturing,Logistics,Finance,andLegalteamsontradecompliancerequirementsaffectingsourcingstrategies,productchanges,andbusinessinitiatives.
    • Supportandcoordinateinternalaudits,brokeraudits,andinternalcomplianceassessments;identifycompliancegaps,developcorrectiveactionplans,andmonitorremediationactivities.
    • Leadorsupportprocessimprovement,systemimplementation,processredesign,andcross-functionalinitiativesdesignedtoenhancecompliance,efficiency,anddataintegrity.
    • Develop,update,andmaintainprocedures,workinstructions,compliancedocumentation,andtrainingmaterials,whileprovidingtrainingandguidancetoteammembersasappropriate.
    • Analyzetradedata,metrics,andtrendstoidentifycompliancerisks,operationalissues,andcost-savingopportunities,andpreparefindingsandrecommendationsformanagement.
    • Supporttariffmitigation,traderemedy,andstrategictradecomplianceinitiatives.
    • Exerciseindependentjudgmentinresolvingroutine-to-complextradecomplianceissuesandescalatingsignificantriskswhennecessary.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
    • 4+ years of experience in import/export operations, customs compliance, logistics, supply chain, or trade compliance.
    • Advanced knowledge of import/export compliance requirements, customs regulations, and international trade programs.
    • Ability to independently analyze complex trade compliance issues and develop practical, risk-based solutions.
    • Experience working with customs brokers, freight providers, government agencies, and other external business partners.
    • Working knowledge of duty savings programs, tariff mitigation strategies, customs valuation, and post-entry processes.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Access; experience with ERP, trade management, or customs systems preferred.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and deliver high-quality results in a dynamic and evolving environment.
    • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, when necessary.

    Qualifications (Preferred):

    • Licensed Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist.
    • Experience dealing with import/Customs programs in the USMCA region.
    • OGA/PGA previous experience.
