Position Overview:
We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Internist to join our team at a nursing home in Brooklyn, NY. In this role, you'll deliver comprehensive care to geriatric and long-term care patients, ensuring optimal health outcomes in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications:
  • MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Active New York State medical license.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
  • Prior experience in geriatrics, nursing homes, or long-term care settings preferred.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems, chronic disease management, and preventive care protocols.
  • Compassion, strong communication, cultural competency, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consult with patients to understand their symptoms and health concerns.
  • Diagnose and treat acute illnesses (bacterial and viral infections) and chronic conditions such as hypertension, heart disease, and diabetes.
  • Prescribe or administer medication, therapy, and other specialized care to treat or prevent illness.
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results and prescribed treatments with patients.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and progress, and re-evaluate treatments as necessary.
  • Provide health and wellness advice, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Immunize patients against preventable diseases.
  • Maintain detailed notes of patient appointments, including tests, treatments, and results.
  • Refer patients to other medical specialists when necessary.
  • Provide support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.
  • Prepare official health documents or records as needed.
  • Contribute to research on new treatments and methods to prevent or control illness.
