What you''ll do

• Gain valuable real-world experience by working alongside ALLETE accounting professionals across multiple disciplines, expanding your network and understanding of the field.
• Explore a variety of accounting functions through project-based assignments, including financial statement preparation and reporting, general accounting, accounts payable, budgeting, property accounting, and cash reporting, while developing skills that support future career growth.

What you''ll bring

• Must be currently pursuing a bachelor''s or master''s degree in accounting with an expected graduation date between December 2027 to June 2028

How to stand out

• Have basic computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite Skills (i.e. Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
• Have the ability to work with a variety of people in changing situations

Details & Duration of Internship

• This internship will be reporting in person to Duluth, MN
• This role is expected to begin January 2027.
• This internship will be part-time during the academic year (10-20 hours per week) and full-time during the summer. Based on business needs and the intern's availability, the internship may be extended on a part-time basis through graduation.
• ALLETE will comply with college requirements.
• Hours and duration are subject to change based on company needs.
