What you''ll do

• This internship will provide hands-on experience within Minnesota Power's Business Intelligence team. The intern will have opportunities to learn and contribute by:
• Developing practical skills in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI while supporting the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.
• Gaining experience with data engineering and analytics processes by assisting with data ingestion, transformation, and modeling using SQL, lakehouses, and semantic models within Microsoft Fabric.
• Learning how business data is used to drive decision-making by supporting analyses that identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), trends, risks, and actionable insights.
• Building an understanding of data quality management by helping develop automated solutions to identify, track, and communicate data integrity issues.
• Exploring analytics best practices and emerging technologies while contributing to data, analytics, and system improvement initiatives across the organization.
• Collaborating with experienced professionals to strengthen technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills in a real-world environment.

What you''ll bring

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor''s degree program in Business/Data Analytics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or other STEM-focused degree program, with an expected graduation date between May 2028 and June 2029.

Details & Duration of Internship

• This internship will be reporting in person to Duluth, MN for the duration of the internship.
• The anticipated duration of this role is from May/June 2027 through May 2028. Candidates may have the opportunity to start as early as February 2027 and continue through graduation, subject to business needs and availability.
• The internship will be full time during summer and breaks and part-time (16-20 hours per week) during the school year.
• ALLETE will comply with college requirements
• Hours and duration may be subject to change based on company needs
