Job Summary
Naropa University's MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Buddhism-informed Contemplative Counseling concentration (BICC) seeks to hire qualified Faculty Supervisors to support graduate level courses Fall CMHC 622-BA Internship I & Spring CMHC 624-BA Internship II for the 2026 -2027 academic year. The Fall semester runs between August 24, 2026 and December 11, 2026. The Spring semester runs between January 11, 2027 and May 7, 2027. The full academic year (Fall and Spring semesters) commitment is preferred.
Course Description:
This course supports field experience in which students provide direct counseling services under licensed supervision at an external site. Students attend university supervision as well to explore case conceptualization, client services, and their professional development.
BICC supplemental course description: During the internship year, students meet weekly in small groups with 1-2 members of the clinical faculty and use a contemplative approach to case presentation. These presentations are directed toward a deeper understanding of how the principles of Buddhism-Informed Contemplative Counseling manifest in clinical work. Group members also practice clinical skills in these groups.
