About NCOSE & Internship ProgramThe National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) exists because people should be free to live and love without sexual abuse and exploitation. The Exploitation Prevention & Advocacy Internship program offers a unique opportunity to combat sexual abuse and exploitation while gaining new skills through hands‑on opportunities that seek to prevent exploitation before it begins. Interns also enjoy opportunities to meet nationally recognized leaders in the field of anti‑sexual exploitation and attend education briefings. The program invites interns to investigate their individual strengths and develop new skills.About This PositionThe NCOSE Law Center has created a legal strategy to end the sex trade within the next decade. The Law Center files groundbreaking lawsuits, provides critical policy analysis of federal and state legislation, builds networks of state‑level activists, submits amicus briefs, and trains and mentors the next generation of legal advocates. Interns will support this work.Term: September 2–December 10, 2026; possibility for extension of six months or one year.ResponsibilitiesAssist in high‑level and nationally impactful litigation, drafting pleadings, briefs, demand letters, and appeals.Research and draft policy advocacy documents.Meet with and be mentored by the General Counsel and other NCOSE attorneys.Research and draft model legislation related to sex trafficking, exploitation, prostitution, and pornography.Research legal questions and draft memoranda for existing and potential cases.QualificationsOpen to law students only.Passionate about opposing sexual exploitation and about NCOSE's mission, vision, and values.High levels of initiative, creativity, work ethic, and good judgment.Well‑organized, self‑directed, and able to complete multiple tasks in a timely and efficient manner.Excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.A collaborative and team‑oriented work ethic.Has and can bring a working laptop and charger.BenefitsSmall stipend based on in‑person or remote status.Hands‑on work with passionate, talented team members.Mentorship from movement leaders and 10‑week training on various exploitation issues.Professional networking opportunities with movement leaders.A creative, collaborative, and inclusive culture.Professional development and skill discovery.Real‑life experiences to build confidence for future careers.CompensationNCOSE internships are unpaid.ScheduleThis position requires 24–40 hours per week. Candidates must be mostly available during NCOSE's office hours of Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. EST to coordinate with the team. The team is in the office on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and remote on Tuesday and Friday.
