Applications Engineering- Materials or Metallurgical Sciences:

Key Criteria: Seeking a Junior (Senior or Grad student preferred) actively enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, seeking medium or advanced knowledge in one of the following areas such as materials science, metallurgy, alloy properties. Must have knowledge in using Excel, Power Point, Word and more.

Nature of Work: Support our Marketing team in analysis and compilation of alloy Haynes alloy properties vs. the data from competitor alloys. Also support market research activities.

Location: Kokomo, Indiana

Applications Engineering- IT or Computer Engineering:

Key Criteria: Seeking a Junior (Senior or Grad student preferred) actively enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, seeking medium or advanced knowledge in one of the following areas such as materials science, metallurgy, alloy properties. Metallurgical Engineer (Research & Technology):

Key Criteria: Seeking a Sophomore actively enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program who is interested in research and hands-on lab work. Prefer one pursuing a Metallurgical/Materials Science degree.

Nature of Work: Support an existing Research & Technology project in the areas of welding and/or additive manufacturing through testing and characterization of high-temperature and corrosion-resistant alloys. Supporting activities may include mechanical testing, weldability testing, Greeble thermal-mechanical simulations, optical metallography, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) microstructure characterization techniques.

Manufacturing Engineering:

Key Criteria: Seeking an intern who is at least a Sophomore actively enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Mechanical/Metallurgical/Electrical/Materials Science Engineering, interested in Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement. Interest in machining processes (lathes, centerless grinding, etc.) would be a plus but not required. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.

Nature of Work: To provide direct support to the Manufacturing Engineering department through continuous improvement projects. This role will also provide a means to evaluate and develop future sources of engineering talent for Haynes International.

Location: Kokomo, Indiana AND Arcadia, Louisiana

IT Applications Development:

Key Criteria: Seeking a College or university student pursing an IT related degree pathway such as Applications Development. Knowledgeable in programming languages (preferably .NET), understanding of core programming concepts (variables, loops, conditions, functions, classes), familiarity with version control (Git/GitHub/Azure DevOps) and an introductory knowledge of databases (SQL basics, tables, queries).

Nature of Work: Daily work may include writing and modifying code, debugging issues, assisting with application enhancements, and supporting testing activities. Additional responsibilities may include helping document technical solutions, update user or system documentation, and collaborate with business users to understand basic functional requirements.

Electrical Engineering:

Key Criteria: Seeking at least a Sophomore actively enrolled in a degree program, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering, interested in PLC's, automation, programming and machine controls. Good understanding of hydraulics. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and capable of computer programming.

Nature of Work: Provide direct support to the Plant Engineering Department through daily equipment troubleshooting projects. Develop project management skills, project work scopes, engineering specifications and schedules. Assist with maintaining electrical drawings manually and on CAD system.

Mechanical Engineering:

Key Criteria: Seeking at least a Sophomore actively enrolled in a degree program, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Power Transmission and Structural Analysis.

Nature of Work: Provide direct support to the Plant Engineering Department through participation in daily equipment troubleshooting projects, assisting with maintaining of mechanical drawings manually and on CAD systems, developing project work scopes, engineering specifications and schedules, and developing project management skills.

Corporate Legal Department:

Key Criteria: Seeking at least a Sophomore, actively enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, who is interested in pursuing a career in the legal field as either a paralegal or lawyer.

Nature of Work: Support the legal department in performing a variety of administrative tasks, such as updating policies, organizing documents, researching, and drafting. Additionally, you will have the chance to gain firsthand experience in all the aspects of a corporate legal department, as well as exposure to the law in employment and benefits, contracts, international, intellectual property, compliance, litigation, business, commercial, and more.

Human Resources:

Key Criteria: Seeking at least a Sophomore, actively enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Human Resources, Business Management or related, who is interested in pursuing a career in Human Resources.

Nature of Work: Support the HR department in performing a variety of administrative tasks, such as updating employee records, assisting with Benefits administration and ensuring the smooth running of our HR policies and procedures. Additionally, our intern will gain firsthand experience in HR operations and insights into our company's approach to payroll, recruiting, labor relations and employee development.

Corporate Inside Sales:

Key Criteria: Seeking at least a Sophomore, actively enrolled in a Business, Management, Marketing or related program with aspirations of working in manufacturing sales.

Nature of Work: Support corporate inside sales focusing on sales development for existing and/or forthcoming investments and synergies, new and existing products portfolios and identifying process improvements.

Environmental Health & Safety:

Key Criteria: Seeking an intern who is at least a Sophomore or Junior actively enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or related.

Nature of Work: Provide support to the EHS Department via a variety of activities such as assisting with workplace safety inspections, hazard assessments, and audits, supporting incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and corrective actions, and participating in employee safety training programs, toolbox talks, and safety awareness initiatives to promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
