Position Title: Interpreter Translator
The Interpreter will play a vital role working closely with engineers and executive level managers to translate Korean to English and vice versa.
This position should expect to demonstrate tremendous professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to assist in getting this plant up and running.
Interpret and translate as needed for the general manager at SL Tennessee
Provide accurate and complete interpretation services in various settings to ensure understanding between individuals who do not share a common language.
Translate documents related to project activities when required.
Facilitate communication between management and other colleagues and other functional areas of the business to understand specialized work and translate them appropriately.
Attends meetings, or conferences to mediate discussion or relay ideas and concepts between languages.
Always maintain professionalism and confidentiality during interpretation sessions, some interpretation situations may include confidential information about employees, the business, etc.
Translate spoken statements from one language to another while maintaining the content, context, and style of the original message.
Support operational staff on the plant floor by comprehending and interpreting operational work instructions related to manufacturing including but not limited to Safety, Quality, Engineering, purchasing
Work Experience
1+years as an Interpreter is preferred
Previous experience in a manufacturing or automotive industry is preferred
Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation preferred
Certification or degree in interpretation or translation fields preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bilingual English/ Korean preferred
Understanding of cultural norms in the United States and Korea is required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required (both verbal and written)
