The Shorewood School District is seeking Intervention Aides to work with faculty at our elementary schools.
Intervention Aides work as part of a team to accelerate student progress in reading and math. This position primarily consists of working with small groups of students ranging from grade levels 1-6, collaborating and planning with the Reading and Math Specialists and teachers, and monitoring students'' progress. Applicants should be energetic individuals with an aptitude for literacy and math curriculum and a passion for working with children.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working with individual students or small groups to conduct and reinforce literacy or math-related needs.
Supervising and assisting students on school grounds, including hallway, classroom, playground and cafeteria.
Creating a warm and welcoming environment so that students feel safe and supported in their academic growth.
Maintaining confidentiality regarding students, student records, parents, staff and any other school-related issues.
All other duties that may be assigned, in a manner that will meet the standards established by the Superintendent and/or the District.
