Huron UNION AFFILIATION:AFSCME 2733 Family Division - Juvenile Center JOB SUMMARY Under the supervision of a higher classified employee of the Juvenile Court Division, supports and monitors the activities of youth assigned to the Intervention Program. Works with probation casework staff to engage court-involved youth in community-based programming. Prepares and presents written summary reports of youths progress while in the program. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Possession of a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL), Group A, B, or C with a "P" endorsement is required within 90 days of hire. Position is part of the County Drug Testing Program under its Drug Free Workplace Policy and Procedures. Completion of Michigan Judicial Institute Training for Juvenile Court staff required within two (2) years after date of employment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Duties require sufficient mobility to work in a normal office setting and use standard office equipment including a computer, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and hearing and speech sufficient to communicate in person or over the telephone. These requirements may be accommodated for otherwise qualified individuals requiring and requesting such accommodations. EDUCATION Possession of a bachelors degree in social work, psychology, sociology or a human services field. EXPERIENCE Two (2) years of experience working in a child-care institution, law enforcement, criminal justice or one (1) year of professional casework experience.
