Job Title: Intervention Teacher - Elementary (Anticipated)
Reports To: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction
Job Purpose: Provide intervention services to identified students.
Qualifications-Required:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
NJ Teacher Certification (Standard) (K-5, K-6)
Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to teach students with learning skill development
Knowledge of Student Learning Standards
Excellent classroom management
Ability to integrate technology into daily instruction
Demonstrate differentiated instruction
Ability to motivate and engage students in learning
Ability to collaborate and cooperate with grade level PLC
Excellent communication skills, written and oral
Excellent interpersonal skills
Able to pass the Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Review
Ability to pass the Pre-Employment Physical
Able to pass the required Criminal History Review
Qualifications-Desired:
NJ Teacher Certificate for English Language Arts or Mathematics
4-5 years teaching experience
Experience teaching students with reading skill deficiencies
Advanced training with research based interventions
Familiarity with Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching
Duties/Responsibilities:
Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of identified students
Creates and modifies student assessments as needed
Evaluates students' progress on a regular basis and prepares progress reports
Provided individual, small and/or large group instruction, when appropriate to adapt the curriculum to the needs of identified students
Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly and productive learning environment
Develops instructional plans and organizes instruction to maximize time and provide a balanced program of learning
Identifies student needs and cooperates with classroom teacher to continue identified skill development
Communicates with parents/guardians when necessary to communicate student progress
Acts as a resource person to provide information to classroom teachers
Attends PLCs to communicate strategies for improving student learning skills
Working Conditions:
Office/Classroom
10-month position
Salary range of $60,141 (BA, Step 1) to $104,512 (DOC, Step 13)
