Intervention Tutors - After School Program

Qualifications: The 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant Academic Intervention Tutors shall have a

basic knowledge of elementary core curriculum and shall implement literacy and/or math interventions with

small groups using explicit instruction as designed by lead teachers. The individual shall provide support in large

classroom settings during recreational and enrichment activities. The candidate shall have successful experience

understanding the development of students. Must be able to collaborate with other staff including the lead

teachers, enrichment staff and the site supervisor. Must possess excellent communication skills. Preference will

be given to those who are currently working, student teaching or volunteering in the Delavan-Darien School

District.

Job Description: Implements a one-hour block of literacy and/or math interventions with small groups using

explicit instruction as designed by the lead teachers. Provides set up for snack and supports students during

large group enrichment and recreational activities. This is part of the 21st Century Community Learning Center

Grant. This position is under the guidance and supervision of the Site Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

1. Implement literacy and/or math interventions with small groups using explicit instruction as designed by

the lead teachers.

2. Collect data as requested by the lead teachers

3. Communicate with the lead teachers and site supervisors on a regular basis to make adjustments to

academic interventions when needed

4. Support students during large group enrichment and/or recreational activities

5. Assists with set up and clean up of the program including assisting students to the bus
