Position Overview
We are looking for a talented and committed Interventional Radiologist to join our Department of Radiology, primarily based at MelroseWakefield Hospital (MWH). This full-time role provides a unique chance to work in a vibrant community hospital while maintaining a strong academic connection with Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in a wide array of interventional radiology procedures and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care in a community setting. Responsibilities will include performing procedures, conducting diagnostic imaging, providing consultations for both inpatients and outpatients, and engaging in teaching and professional development opportunities through the Tufts academic network.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a variety of interventional procedures, such as vascular access, biopsies, drainages, embolization, and other minimally invasive treatments within a community hospital environment.
- Analyze diagnostic imaging studies to facilitate safe and effective procedural planning.
- Offer inpatient and outpatient interventional radiology consultations, assess patients before and after procedures, and ensure continuity of care.
- Work closely with local healthcare teams at MelroseWakefield Hospital, including surgery, emergency medicine, oncology, and primary care.
- Engage in multidisciplinary discussions, rounds, and case reviews to enhance coordinated, high-quality patient care.
- Provide comprehensive patient education regarding procedures, expectations, and follow-up plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of community-based interventional radiology programs.
- Maintain strong collaboration with faculty from Tufts Medical Center, with optional involvement in academic activities, teaching, and research based on interest.
- Ensure accurate and thorough clinical documentation in line with hospital and system standards.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Diagnostic Radiology with fellowship training in Interventional Radiology.
- Strong procedural and diagnostic capabilities suitable for a community hospital setting.
- Ability to work autonomously while excelling in a collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
- Dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality care to a diverse patient population.
- Interest in engaging in academic or educational activities through Tufts Medical Center is encouraged but not mandatory.
Compensation
Academic rank and salary will be aligned with qualifications and experience. The salary range for this position is between $425,000.00 and $450,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined during the selection process and will consider various factors, including relevant experience, education, internal equity, and academic rank.
