Interventional Radiology PA

Assignment Length:  Ongoing coverage need

Reason for Coverage: Long-term permanent search

Practice Setting:   

• Inpatient/Outpatient coverage
  
• Procedures include: superficial biopsies (lymph, parotid, thyroid), paracentesis, thoracentesis, PICC lines, midlines, non-tunneled catheters, tunneled catheters, aspirations, g-tube replacements, small bowel feeding tube placement
  
• Practice includes 2 APPs, 9 RNs, 4 MAs and 2 Office Staff
  
• Level I trauma center
  

Schedule: 

• Full-time coverage
  
• Monday-Friday, 7:30a-4:00p or 8:30a-5:00p
  
• Average 25 patients per shift
  

Patient Population: Adult, Geriatric

EMR: EPIC

Credentialing: 90 days

Requirements:

• Active Virginia licensure
  
• Board certification
  
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
  
• Minimum 1-year Interventional Radiology experience or equivalent
  

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  
• Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
  
• Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
  
• Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
  
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly

• Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty
  
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions

• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team
  

Requirements

Education:

• Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
  

Licenses & Certifications:

• Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Virginia
  
• National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  

Experience:

• While specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
