Interventional Radiology Technician | Hartford, CT | 90-Day Contract | Onsite

Join the Interventional Radiology Department at a premier healthcare facility in Hartford, CT. This 90-day contract position focuses on supporting vascular and neuro interventional procedures. You'll work as part of a dynamic team providing essential technical support in a fast-paced medical imaging environment.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

• Title: Interventional Radiology Technician

• Type: Contract (Pay-as-you-go)

• Duration: 90 days (May 11, 2026 – August 24, 2026)

• Hours: 40 hours per week

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM EST

• Work Type: Onsite

• Reporting Location: Hartford, CT (114 Woodland St)

• Department: Interventional Radiology

COMPENSATION:

• Marketplace Pay Rate: $72.07/hour

SHIFT & ON-CALL REQUIREMENTS:

• Primary Shift: 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, Monday–Friday

• On-Call: Every other weekend (CALL ONLY)

• Rotating Call: M–F (as scheduled)

• Holiday Call: One holiday if it falls within contracted dates

• Call Pay Structure: Available as scheduled

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

• End of Week (EOW) ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required

• Valid CT Department of Public Health (DPH) License required

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

• Current CPR certification

SYSTEMS & EQUIPMENT:

• EPIC EHR (electronic health record system)

• Synapse imaging software

• Startrack tracking system

• (Prior knowledge not necessary; training provided)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

PATIENT CARE & PREPARATION:

• Prepare examination rooms for patient examinations and procedures

• Position patients and equipment according to protocol

• Explain procedures to patients in clear, understandable terms

• Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout procedures

• Monitor patients during examinations

• Follow radiation safety procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure

TECHNICAL & CLINICAL SUPPORT:

• Administer radiopharmaceuticals to obtain clear, usable diagnostic images

• Insert commands and data into computer systems to document and specify scan sequences

• Monitor video displays to adjust image density, contrast, and quality

• Produce high-quality diagnostic images

• Report important findings and information to the Physician

• Update patients' records with accurate procedure documentation

EQUIPMENT & INVENTORY:

• Perform scheduled maintenance on radiographic equipment

• Conduct emergency repairs on equipment as needed

• Monitor and organize radiographic supplies inventory

• Ensure all equipment is functioning optimally and safely

ADMINISTRATIVE:

• Organize daily procedure schedules

• Prioritize emergencies in scheduling

• Answer technical questions from staff and patients

• Schedule patient appointments

• Provide pre-procedure advice and education

REQUIREMENTS:

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 2 years as an Interventional Radiology Technician

• Documented experience in BOTH vascular AND neuro interventional cases

• Neuro interventional case experience is imperative (required)

• Traveler/contract experience preferred

CERTIFICATIONS & CREDENTIALS:

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification (EOW)

• Valid Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) License

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Current CPR certification

SKILLS:

• Expertise in Interventional Radiology technology

• Proficiency with imaging software and EHR systems

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner

• Ability to work in fast-paced clinical environment

• Capable of managing on-call duties and rotating schedules
