Job Summary and Qualifications

Interventional Radiology is a sub-specialty of radiology in which minimally invasive procedures are performed using image guidance. These doctors specialize in using nonsurgical techniques for targeted treatments. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you can expect to do the following: 

You will be responsible for solid to expert knowledge of all Special/Interventional Procedures and being able to provide appropriate and positive patient care and exemplary customer service to patients, ranging in age from newborn to late adulthood.  

Your role maintains strong communication and organization within Interventional Radiology, as well interdepartmentally, and with radiologist and referring physicians.  

You will consistently demonstrate critical thinking skills in day to day job prioritization, and assumes accountability for personal and team contributions.  

You must be willing to enter call rotation, to include weekend and holidays, as well as be willing to cross train to one or more modalities, as required. 


What qualifications you will need:

Current ARRT (RT) (R). (VI) or (CV) certification strongly preferred. Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification through AHA or ARC. Advanced ARRT Credentials preferred. 

· Graduate of a 24-month AMA approved school of Radiological Technology. 

· One year diagnostic experience required (ARRT).

· Interventional Radiology experience preferred. 

· Solid to expert knowledge of all Interventional Radiology procedures.

· Demonstrates good organizational skills.

· Provides safe and appropriate patient care.

    · Displays appropriate judgment and problem-solving skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers. 

    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • (RN) Registered Nurse, or (ARRT-R) Radiography, or (ARRT-VI) Vascular Interventional Radiography, or (ARRT-CI) Cardiac Interventional Radiography
    • Registered Nurse Diploma, or Vocational School Graduate
