The Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) is responsible for assisting in interventional radiology procedures in a high-acuity hospital environment.
This role involves supporting physicians during procedures, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring patient safety while delivering high-quality diagnostic and interventional care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Procedures
" Assist in interventional radiology procedures
" Prepare and position patients for procedures
" Support radiologists during fluoroscopic and IR procedures
Equipment & Imaging
" Operate X-ray, CR, and DR systems
" Ensure high-quality imaging for diagnostic and procedural accuracy
" Troubleshoot and report equipment issues
Patient Care & Safety
" Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures
" Follow infection control and safety protocols
" Maintain awareness of patient rights and care standards
Team Collaboration
" Work closely with radiologists, nurses, and IR team
" Support workflow and assist team members
" Demonstrate professionalism and accountability
Documentation & Compliance
" Maintain accurate patient records
" Ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
" Follow EMR documentation protocols
Must-Have Qualifications
" Minimum 2+ years of Radiology / IR experience
" Neurosurgery / Neuroscience experience (Required)
" Active New York State License (Required)
" BLS Certification (AHA Required)

" Interventional Radiology experience (Preferred)
" Experience in high-acuity hospital environments
