Holy Cross Medical Group (HCMG) has an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Interventional Sports Medicine Physician to join our growing team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled physician with a strong passion for interventional musculoskeletal medicine, image-guided procedures, and innovative non-surgical treatment approaches. The ideal candidate will have a particular interest in orthobiologics and regenerative medicine, including PRP and other biologic therapies, and will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive and compassionate care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions.
The Sports Medicine Provider specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. This role emphasizes interventional, non-surgical treatment options and holistic patient care, bridging the gap between primary care and surgical intervention. Physicians seeking a practice focused on procedural musculoskeletal medicine, regenerative therapies, and collaborative orthopaedic care are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Evaluation
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, from acute injuries to chronic disorders.
- Conduct thorough patient examinations, including interpretation of diagnostic imaging studies such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans.
- Interventional Treatment
- Perform and expand a wide range of ultrasound-guided and fluoroscopic-guided musculoskeletal procedures, including joint, tendon, and soft tissue injections/procedures.
- Recommend and administer non-surgical treatments including physical therapy referrals, bracing, and image-guided interventions.
- Participate in the evaluation and administration of advanced orthobiologic therapies, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and other regenerative medicine treatments.
- Collaborate in the ongoing development and growth of the practice's procedural and regenerative medicine programs.
- Provide pain management recommendations and coordinate multidisciplinary care as needed.
- Patient Education
- Educate patients on their conditions, outlining both surgical and non-surgical treatment options.
- Counsel patients regarding regenerative medicine and orthobiologic treatment options when appropriate.
- Advise on injury prevention, ergonomic practices, and exercises to improve mobility, function, and strength.
- Consultation and Referral
- Collaborate closely with orthopaedic surgeons to identify cases that may require surgical intervention.
- Refer patients to other specialists when conditions require treatment outside the realm of sports medicine and orthopaedics.
- Refer patients, as appropriate, to Exercise as Medicine or similar wellness programs.
- Other Duties
- Maintain comprehensive, timely, and accurate patient records.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to practice growth and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist with athletic coverage and support community outreach sports medicine programs.
Qualifications
- Degree in Medicine from an accredited institution.
- Fellowship training or extensive experience in Sports Medicine, Interventional Sports/Spine Medicine, and/or Non-Operative Orthopaedics.
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience in image-guided procedures and orthobiologic therapies preferred.
- Valid state medical license or eligibility for Florida licensure.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
