Job Title: Interventional Technologist I Location: Oklahoma City, OK Job Type: 13-Week Contract Schedule:
4 x 10-hour shifts
40 hours per week
No travel required
No trauma experience required
Job Summary We are seeking an Interventional Technologist I to assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures used to diagnose, monitor, and treat a variety of medical conditions without surgery. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in Interventional Radiology, Invasive Cardiology, or imaging professionals looking to begin a career in this specialty. Key Responsibilities
Assist physicians during minimally invasive, image-guided procedures such as cardiac catheterization, angiography, electrophysiology, biopsies, thrombectomy, embolization, device implantation, and pain management.
Prepare patients for procedures while ensuring comfort and safety.
Function as a scrub technologist and maintain a sterile field throughout procedures.
Operate specialized imaging equipment following established protocols and safety standards.
Transfer images and documentation into the electronic medical record for physician review.
Perform quality control, equipment cleaning, and routine maintenance according to manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
Participate in quality assurance, audits, and performance improvement initiatives.
Provide clear communication and education to patients and families regarding procedures and expectations.
Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and training of new team members and students as needed.
Participate in on-call rotation for evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited post-secondary healthcare program in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, Ultrasound, Paramedic/EMT, or a related health science field.
Military educational programs accredited by JRCERT are accepted.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical imaging principles, sterile technique, and patient positioning.
Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment while providing compassionate patient care.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
Required Certifications
BLS (American Heart Association)
ACLS (American Heart Association)
ARRT (RT) Certification – Required
RCIS or RCES certification may be obtained within 18 months of hire (if applicable).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Interventional Radiology or Invasive Cardiology.
Previous experience assisting with image-guided procedures.
