Position Title: Interventionist Teacher (Spanish Speaking)

QUALIFICATIONS
License/Certification: Illinois Professional Educator or Transitional Bilingual Educator License valid for Grades 1-3 with Spanish Bilingual approval or endorsement
Education:
Required - Master's Degree
Preferred - Master's Degree in Reading or Bilingual Education
Experience -
Required - 3-5 years teaching experience
Preferred - 3-5 years teaching experience in an elementary school and/or bilingual classroom(s).
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Technical: Competent in digital environments; Chromebooks, databases, spreadsheets, publishing software, Microsoft Office, Google applications etc.
Interpersonal: Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, businesses and community. Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills. Empathetic, humanistic and open-minded. Strong sense of teamwork. Strategic thinker. Must be able to work harmoniously with the community, students, parents, staff, and administration, etc. Must be able to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff in both English and Spanish. Must exhibit sound judgment in dealing with people. Must have strong organizational skills.

Manual Dexterity: Work requires definite skilled and accurate physical operations requiring some closely coordinated performance.
Physical Effort: Work requires handling average weight materials or equipment, but not for sustained periods.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 180 days; Monday thru Friday; 7:15 AM - 2:50 PM
SALARY RANGE: BA / Step 6: $50,863 - MA+45 Step 8: $63,094 (Based on experience and education as defined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement)
