Introduction to Public Safety

This foundational course introduces students to the dynamic and essential fields of law enforcement, fire science, and emergency medical services (EMT).  Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on activities, and project-based learning, students will explore the history, roles, responsibilities, and career pathways within public safety professions.  Students will engage with guest speakers, simulations, and potential field experiences to gain real-world insights.  This course serves as a gateway to advances studies in criminal justice, fire technology, and emergency medical services, and prepares students to further training, certification, or post-secondary education in public safety careers.Available to Blue Springs and Oak Grove School District students
