Education :
RCIS Education
• Graduate of accredited school of cardiovascular science, or
• Graduate from accredited school of Radiologic Technology (RT), or
• Meets education provisions required to obtain RCIS through CCI and SC Board of Medical Examiners and has already received those credentials.
RCIS Experience: Minimum amount of experience to get required licensure/certifications/registrations outlined below is required.
RCIS Licensure/Certification:
• Must maintain active Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Registration with the SC Board of Medical Examiners; and
• Must maintain active RCIS certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); and
• Must maintain active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS for Healthcare Provider.
• In addition to the above, RTs must also be registered in Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART).

Summary of Primary Function :
Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifies and determines the priority of patient's problems/needs, and evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care; coordinates, provides and directs patient teaching activities and coordinates the care provided by health team members.
Essential Job Functions :
In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment and evaluates treatment effectiveness; administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and organization policies and procedures; serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
