Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory / ABS Checker Material Verification Specialist to join a fast-paced steel manufacturing operation in Oklahoma City. This position is responsible for tracking, verifying, and accounting for materials as they move through production, galvanizing, and shipping.
This is an important inventory and production-support role requiring strong computer skills, organization, and problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate can investigate discrepancies, track down missing materials, and communicate effectively with Production, Shipping, and other departments to ensure materials are accurately accounted for.
Required Experience & Skills
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
Strong computer and data-entry skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Ability to quickly learn inventory and material-tracking software
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Ability to investigate missing or incorrectly recorded materials

Ability to understand blueprints, drawings, models, or other production documentation
Manufacturing, steel, warehouse, inventory, or shipping experience preferred
Ability to work the full MondaySaturday | 7:00 AM 6:00 PM schedule
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Verify materials loaded onto trucks before shipment to customers
Confirm products and materials are accurately accounted for before leaving the facility
Learn and utilize the ASI computer system
Create trucks and bundle materials within the ASI system
Track material movement throughout production and shipping
Identify missing or unaccounted-for materials
Investigate material and inventory discrepancies
Work with Production and Shipping personnel to locate materials
Maintain accurate material and production information
Verify completed production with appropriate departments
Communicate material status and discrepancies to appropriate personnel
Help determine the root cause of material-tracking problems
Maintain accurate records throughout the verification process
Perform additional inventory and material-control duties as assigned
Inventory & Material Tracking
Monitor materials as they move through production
Verify completed materials against available records
Track materials scheduled for shipment
Confirm materials are assigned to the appropriate loads
Research missing inventory or production items
Investigate discrepancies between physical materials and system information
Work across departments to resolve inventory concerns
Maintain accurate material status information
ASI System Responsibilities
Candidates will be trained to use the ASI computer system for material and shipment tracking.
Responsibilities may include:
Creating trucks within the system
Bundling materials
Tracking material status
Reviewing production information
Verifying material movement
Maintaining accurate system records
Researching discrepancies
Strong general computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly are important for success.
Camera System & Troubleshooting
This position may use facility camera systems as an additional tool for investigating material movement.
Review camera information to help locate missing materials
Trace material movement through production areas
Compare physical activity against system records
Investigate where discrepancies may have occurred
Work with other departments to determine the root cause of missing or incorrectly tracked materials
Galvanized Material Verification
Verify materials before they are sent to the galvanizing facility
Track materials while they are outside the facility
Verify galvanized products after they return
Ensure material records remain accurate throughout the process
Investigate discrepancies involving galvanized materials
Coordinate with appropriate departments regarding material status
Shipping Verification
Verify materials before customer shipments leave the facility
Confirm products are loaded onto the correct trucks
Compare physical materials against available order and production information
Identify missing or incorrect products before shipment
Communicate discrepancies to Shipping and Production personnel
Help prevent incorrect or incomplete customer shipments
Preferred Qualifications
Inventory control experience
Material verification experience
Steel manufacturing or fabrication experience
Warehouse or shipping experience
Production tracking experience
Experience with ERP or inventory-management systems
Experience researching inventory discrepancies
Blueprint or production drawing experience
Microsoft Excel experience
Previous work coordinating between Production, Inventory, and Shipping departments

Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, sitting, and standing
Ability to move throughout an active steel manufacturing facility
Comfortable transitioning between computer-based work and hands-on material verification
Ability to safely work around production equipment, trucks, steel materials, and warehouse operations
Ability to remain physically active throughout an extended shift
