Kforce has a client in Hazelwood, MO that is seeking an Inventory Accounting Manager responsible for overseeing all inventory-related accounting activities, ensuring accurate valuation, compliance with GAAP, and timely financial close. This role partners closely with Operations and Finance leadership, manages a team, and supports strategic initiatives impacting inventory across the organization. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the monthly inventory close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and inventory bridge analyses
  • Review and approve inventory-related balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure proper inventory valuation in accordance with GAAP, including standard cost or moving average, freight, duty, and inventory reserves
  • Monitor inventory reserves and perform ongoing obsolescence and excess inventory analysis
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, schedules, and responding to audit inquiries
  • Maintain strong internal controls related to inventory accounting and reporting
  • Manage, mentor, and develop inventory accounting team members
  • Serve as a key liaison between Accounting and Operations to resolve inventory-related issues and improve processes
  • Provide leadership and guidance during month-end and year-end close
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives impacting inventory processes, systems, and controls

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related
  • 4-5+ years of experience
  • 1+ years of leadership experience
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, Power Query, lookups, and complex formulas; VBA experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of GAAP as it relates to inventory accounting

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
