Inventory Analyst (Contract)

Are you a data-driven professional with a passion for inventory management and process improvement? We are seeking an Inventory Analyst to support a growing organization in Chicago. This hybrid contract opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives on analyzing inventory trends, optimizing stock levels, and improving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock.
Investigate inventory variances and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
Develop and maintain inventory reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and turnover.
Partner with purchasing, logistics, warehouse, and operations teams to support inventory planning.
Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and root cause analysis.
Support demand planning and forecasting initiatives.
Maintain accurate inventory data within ERP systems.
Recommend process improvements to enhance inventory control and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field preferred.
2+ years of inventory analysis, inventory control, supply chain, or operations experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, JD Edwards, or similar.
Ability to analyze large datasets and present findings to stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with inventory forecasting and demand planning.
Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting tools.
Manufacturing, distribution, retail, or consumer goods experience.
Experience supporting inventory audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
