Inventory Analyst, Vendor Partner

Overall Job Summary

This role is responsible for supporting and enhancing the joint business of a key vendor through management of inventory productivity. This includes maximizing the investment by effectively forecasting, purchasing, flowing, and allocating product. The Analyst leverages the power of data and tools to produce supply chain insights and opportunities at the shelf. The Analyst is diligent in the pursuit of joint business opportunities and maintains superior inventory metrics. The individual will drive both tactical and strategic supply chain initiatives between companies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

  • Inventory Management: Plan and execute inventory management functions, including product fulfillment, forecasting (including a longer-term forecast of the joint business for both companies and predicting future demand to the SKU level), and replenishment for a key vendor's business. Support new item entrance and exit strategies, analysis and execution.
  • Inventory Productivity: Maximize inventory productivity at Distribution Centers and Stores for the vendor's business. Evaluate replenishment level opportunities and conduct analysis on service level targets, in-stock and inventory turn targets. Collaborate with key cross-functional teams (IM, merchandising, planning, transportation, and DC Operations) to ensure inventory levels align with financial goals. Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions to problems.
  • Transportation: Serve as transportation liaison between TSC and vendor. Forecast trailer pool requirements based on the future demand projections along with PO tracking and communication.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the vendor. Leverage data sets and tools to produce reports and analysis including vendor and item performance.
  • Relationship Management: Build strategic relationship with vendor partner to ensure shared execution of goals. Communicate the collaborative vision and strategy with internal team.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

2 years' experience in forecasting / replenishment, supply chain analysis, demand planning, logistics or transportation, preferably in a retail environment (preferred).

Track record of consistent performance and ability to influence cross functionally

Education:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, finance, business, statistics or related field.

MBA or advanced degree is a plus

Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Professional Certifications: Certified in both Level 1 and Level 2 E3 training.

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities

  • Excellent office computer skills (Excel, Word, etc) and prefer experience with replenishment/forecasting systems (SAP, E3, Inforem, Intactix, etc)
  • Data Mining, proven command of data warehouses
  • Detail oriented and aptitude for analysis.
  • Sound understanding of supply chain principles
