Description

The Inventory Clerk – Accounting is responsible for supporting inventory control and accounting functions by maintaining accurate inventory records, processing inventory transactions, and assisting with reconciliation and reporting activities. This position ensures inventory data integrity, compliance with internal controls, and coordination between warehouse operations, accounting, and departmental stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for assigned departments in accordance with accounting and internal control standards.
  • Perform data entry and updates within AS400/SWS inventory and accounting modules.
  • Assist with inventory reconciliations, variance analysis, and discrepancy research.
  • Support cycle counts and physical inventory processes by validating quantities and documenting results.
  • Coordinate non-stock and special inventory items with departments and accounting leadership.
  • Ensure inventory transactions are properly recorded and comply with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain documentation to support audits, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist Accounting and Warehouse teams with inventory-related reporting and special projects.
  • Support inventory tracking for special events and operational needs.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of inventory accounting principles and internal control procedures.
  • Experience with PC-based accounting or inventory management systems.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive and classified information.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work tactfully and professionally with team members across departments.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience in inventory, accounting, or clerical support preferred.
  • Experience with AS400/MRP systems or similar accounting or inventory software preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory control, accounting support, or a related clerical role.
  • Working knowledge of inventory tracking, reconciliation, and basic accounting principles.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment preferred.

Licenses, Certificates, Registrations:

Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.

Language Skills:

Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

Physical Demands:

  • Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in person, by phone, and through written correspondence with vendors, department staff, and management regarding inventory and accounting matters.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally lifts and carries office supplies, files, inventory items, or boxes weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequently uses hands and fingers to operate computers, keyboards, calculators, scanners, and other standard office and inventory-related equipment.
  • Mobility: Occasionally moves throughout the property, including storage areas and offices, to verify inventory, retrieve records, and support accounting functions.
  • Stationary Work: Frequently remains seated at a desk or computer workstation for extended periods while entering data, reviewing inventory reports, and reconciling records.
  • Tool Operation: Regular use of computers, accounting software, inventory management systems, copiers, printers, and other standard office equipment.
  • Visual Acuity: Requires close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus when reviewing inventory documentation, invoices, financial reports, and computer screens.
  • Working Conditions: Regularly works in an office environment with occasional exposure to storage or warehouse areas; may be exposed to moderate noise levels and a smoking environment.

This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.

Working Hours:

Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
