Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist

Job Summary:
Our client, a leading company in the warehousing and distribution industry, is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to support day-to-day inventory accuracy and reconciliation efforts. This role is responsible for performing cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, and supporting the Inventory Control Manager with slotting and pick location management.

Contract Duration: Temporary-to-hire; approximately 3-6 months with potential for extension based on performance and business need
Schedule: Full-time, warehouse shift hours (day/evening shifts may apply)
Location: On-site at client warehouse facility
Travel: None required

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all scheduled and immediate cycle counts, including special order rack counts
- Investigate root causes of inventory overages and shortages
- Reconcile inventory differences and maintain accurate logs/notes
- Conduct empty location audits and routine aisle sweeps
- Proactively communicate inventory discrepancies to the sales team
- Assist in identifying stray merchandise
- Verify inventory accuracy and maintain bin labels
- Review damaged products and manage recoup/recovery processes
- Slot new items into inventory system as required
- Validate variances between purchase order receipts and system status

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of relevant warehouse or inventory experience
- Computer literacy with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively across teams
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and take accurate measurements (number, dimension, size, weight)
- Ability to complete forklift training/certification requirements
- Experience or willingness to operate forklift, pallet jack, and cherry picker equipment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous SAP experience
- Prior experience in cycle counting and general inventory control tasks
