Inventory Clerk, Property Accounting
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or three to five years experience in computerized inventory control
- Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer, computer terminal, bar code system, and calculator
- General knowledge of a computerized fixed asset management system environment
- Ability to effectively plan and coordinate the accounting process required for the maintenance of the computerized fixed asset management database (adds, intra-district transfers, and retirements) of assets
- Ability to work flexible hours and days (nights, weekends, after hours); ability to perform physical labor
- Shall possess a valid Mississippi driver's license and shall own a dependable means of transportation
- Proficiency in oral and written communications skills
- Ability to maintain a workable relationship with all levels of coworkers

Job Goal:
Perform duties as assigned to aid the property accountant in the execution of his duties in maintaining an effective computerized fixed asset management system.
Essential Functions:
- Utilizing the established computerized fixed asset management system, performs the following:
- New Assets:
- Assists the Property Accounting supervisor in receiving, uncrating, and inspecting of all assets in receiving warehouse.
- Tags each asset utilizing a predesignated coding system.
- Stores, temporarily, assets until they can be delivered.
- Assists in the delivery of assets to user schools or departments.
- Existing assets:
- Tags all designated assets in the schools and administrative offices with asset numbers using indelible ink pens.
- Conducts fiscal cycle inventory.
- Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.

Days Employed: 230 per school year
Beginning Salary - $14.00 per hour
