Inventory Control Associate
Pay: $18.94/hr, paid weekly
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
- Overtime must be pre-approved.
Location: Leeds, AL 35094
Duration: 4 month contract
Summary
Join the Receiving team in a hands-on role supporting inventory accuracy and warehouse operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a warehouse environment, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable counting inventory, verifying materials, operating equipment, and tracking data. You'll play an important role in maintaining accurate inventory records while supporting warehouse organization and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits.
- Count, verify, and reconcile inventory throughout receiving and warehouse locations.
- Operate forklifts and other powered material-handling equipment when authorized and trained.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to verify materials and parts.
- Measure materials accurately using tape measures, scales, and other measuring devices.
- Create and install location labels throughout the warehouse.
- Enter inventory and project data into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
- Track project progress and communicate updates to project leadership.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following 5S standards.
- Follow all company safety policies and work independently to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, inventory, or materials experience preferred.
- Experience performing physical inventory or cycle counts preferred.
- Forklift or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills for data entry and spreadsheet updates.
- Ability to read manufacturing drawings, blueprints, or technical documents.
- Ability to accurately use tape measures, scales, and other measuring tools.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and safety awareness.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 35 pounds throughout the shift.
- Basic assessments in counting, measuring, and Microsoft Excel are required.
