Job Purpose

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits assisting in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager in any inventory-related functions concerned with inventorying materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs physical counts of inventory items in order to maintain accurate inventory. • Counts and reconciles randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis. • Accurately inputs inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity. • Completes necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on-time. • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies. • Use of motorized equipment including Cherry Picker, Sit-Down Forklift, Stand-Up Reach Truck, and other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Additional Responsibilities

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. • Ensures compliance to inventory processes and procedures and contractual obligations. • Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets. • Utilize computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-3 months related experience and/or training in Inventory Control. • Minimum 1-3 months related experience and/or training in warehouse environment. • Experience operating power equipment is required such as Reach Truck, EPJ, and/or cherry picker/order picker. • Experience using WMS software a plus, Synapse preferred. • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access Database.

Education and/or Experience Required

• High School Diploma or GED General Education Diploma equivalency. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to read and write emails. • Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets. • Forklift certification a plus.
