Inventory Control Clerk I

Location: Newark, DE

Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 12 months
  • Pay Rate: $22.00 $25.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM; flexibility on working hours/shifts and overtime (weekends) required

Job Summary

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for daily inventory management tasks, monitoring inventory aging, and facilitating the cycle count program. This role also represents support for internal and external observations/audits related to inventory control and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the cycle count program and performs cycle counts and research as needed to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Drives metrics, runs reports and compiles/presents as needed for Warehouse department.
  • Monitors aging inventory items and lots including expiration management.
  • Strategize and execute plans to address space constraints and improve capacity.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors to explain documentation and processes.
  • Collaborate with Material Handling and Manufacturing regarding transactional functions in the ERP system, such as material identification, quantity verification, and put-away locations.
  • Perform data entry and prepare documentation as needed.
  • Maintain storage areas and other warehouse areas in a neat, clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Complete housekeeping and area organization audits.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by the manager, supervisor, or group leader.
  • Flexibility on the working hours/shifts and overtime (weekends).
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Management System regulation (QMSR), ISO standards, and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Required Skills

  • Material Handling Equipment expertise
  • Inventory control experience
  • Warehouse management system experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft apps
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (especially Excel) and Agile
  • Working knowledge of MRP systems essential
  • Ability to work individually and in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented

Preferred Skills

  • Oracle system experience
  • Forklift certification and experience with all kinds of power equipment for warehouse operations
  • Warehousing experience
  • Power equipment experience

Education Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent

Required Experience

  • 2 years of related experience
  • Experience in an FDA-controlled environment

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Lifting/pushing/pulling and carrying products weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • Potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and/or moderate noise levels.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals or other materials.
  • Safety shoes compliant with site-specific policies/procedures must be worn in designated areas.
  • Will be required to operate power equipment (forklifts and similar) and use systems including laptop and printers.
