Summary

JOB SUMMARY

The Inventory and Stock Management Coordinator (Food Services) is responsible for overseeing and procuring food and supplies from approved vendors; ensures the proper storage of food supplies and equipment; is responsible for stock rotation and communication with the Food Services staff to minimize waste; oversees stock management and distribution; maintains food service areas according to safety and sanitation standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrates the ability to manage food service supplies, stock and equipment within budget allocations. Oversees purchasing, inventory control and stock management functions to ensure adequate food and supplies are available at all times. Responsible for storing, issuing and rotating stock to reduce waste. Carries out necessary follow-up to ensure urgently needed supplies are delivered according to departmental needs. Reviews back order reports to ensure timely delivery of goods. Adjusts stock/supply levels according to pricing changes and projection of production needs. Actively participate in weekly Cook's meetings and makes suggestions for menu items based on industry reports. Communicates product changes and updates to the end-users to assure allergy cross-references are up-to-date in the menu ordering system and recipe systems. Maintains a positive, polite and courteous working relationship with internal and external customers and personnel. Maintains positive vendor relationships. Works independently, requiring minimal supervision in communication with customers, vendors and fellow associates via the telephone or other media.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Preferred High School Diploma-Preferred
  • 3-5 years prior food service and procurement/stock management experience - Required
  • SERVE SAFE Certification - Required
