Becker/SMC is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Control Coordinator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting inventory control processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact operational efficiency and production performance.

What You’ll Do
Inventory Accuracy & Cycle Counting
· Maintain and administer the company cycle count program in accordance with Becker/SMC procedures
· Generate and distribute daily cycle count lists to warehouse personnel
· Reconcile inventory discrepancies and investigate root causes of inventory variances
· Identify and correct transaction errors impacting inventory accuracy
· Maintain accurate inventory documentation and audit trails
· Assist with periodic and year-end physical inventories
Inventory Analysis & Operational Support
· Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances related to work orders
· Partner with operations and warehouse teams to identify root causes of unfavorable variances and implement corrective actions
· Analyze scrap, rework, and yield losses to support continuous improvement efforts
· Support inventory storage optimization and consolidation initiatives
· Monitor and maintain obsolete and excess inventory
Systems & Reporting
· Utilize SAP and related systems to input, retrieve, and analyze inventory and production control data
· Maintain accurate inventory records within ERP systems
· Generate reports and monitor inventory-related KPIs
· Assist with audits, reconciliations, and reporting requirements
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work closely with operations, warehouse, purchasing, engineering, production, and finance teams to resolve inventory-related issues
· Support additional projects and assignments as directed by the Director of Materials
· Promote compliance with company procedures, inventory controls, and safety standards
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Associate degree or additional technical education preferred
· 1–3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, manufacturing, or materials management preferred
· Experience with cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and inventory control procedures
· Manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred
· SAP or ERP system experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and resolve discrepancies
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
· Ability to read and interpret inventory and production reports
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
· Understanding of inventory transactions, material flow, and warehouse operations
· Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
