Inventory Control Coordinator

The objective of the Inventory Control Coordinator is to produce and efficiently supply internal and external customers with appropriate and timely tools, safety supplies, parts repair and maintenance work orders which includes clerical, accounting, data entry, inventory control, purchasing and the like. Procurement, issuance, maintenance, reporting and organized storage of products, documentation and supplies are generated by utilizing standard office/plant equipment, materials, tools and ISO/AS work instructions, assuring adherence to quality and continuous improvement standards. Performs other duties as required but which comply with ADA.

  • Under general supervision, obtains, selects and disperses tools, safety supplies, parts repair and/or maintenance work orders from and to various sources. Disassembles, assembles, cleans and prepares tools which comply with the guidelines for functionality, usage and safety. Ensures that all company equipment and property are assigned to employees including the purchase of tools and the like.
  • Performs diversified duties in the storing, assembling, assigning, distributing, monitoring, tracing, verifying, compiling, posting and updating of inventory, product reports, accounting papers, schedules, receipts, invoices, purchase orders and the like. Maintains records requiring classification and compilation of varied information which includes maintaining a pre-established system for filing of tooling and related equipment in order for parts to be systematically stored, cataloged and cross-referenced by size and identification number. Ensures that supplies and parts are properly stored and that the Inventory area is in compliance with the housekeeping standards set forth by the company. Keeps usage logs and maintains sequence and control documents for errors and rejects those with inadequate or inaccurate data in accordance with established procedures and corrects records or adjusts errors. Transcribes and/or verify a wide variety of distributions, inventory levels, material documents, records and information by using common software packages for word processing, spreadsheet, data entry and the like.
  • Resolves internal customer questions or problems related to supplies and initiates action for repair, replacement or service or refers highly unusual situations to supervisor/s for review and reconciliation. Maintains liaisons with other departments for supply completion, ascertains omitted data or authorization and requisition supplies from varies sources. Maintains Tool Crib equipment. Makes and checks routine calculations, minor preparing and sorting of mail, completing forms, answering phones and the like, cross-departmental. Performs standard purchasing duties including reviewing quotations with supervisor/s for price, delivery, quality and quantity to procure assigned supplies, equipment, material, parts and services for supportive operational requirements. Reviews, orders and expedites requests, as required.
  • May be required to contact internal and/or external customers on miscues (delayed shipments, shortage of materials, etc.) and explain circumstances.
  • May work on special projects from time to time. Is involved with ensuring compliance to ISO/AS standards. May provide administrative support for different elements.
  • Acting on own initiative and direction, may provide analytical and specialized administrative support for routine and non-routine assignments to assist plant divisions. May provide technical guidance to co-workers and/or answers questions relating to procedures, codes, operation of equipment, format and sequence of operations.
  • May suggest, collaborate and implement/improve on effective work methods, machinery, documentation, materials, safety and team projects that could improve products, people, profits and lower cost and scrap.
  • Communicates on a regular basis with supervisor/s and co-workers regarding the production, procedures, issues regarding tools, safety supplies, parts, repairs and preventative maintenance. May prepare recommendations to modify methods or processes, relative to improved productivity and quality.
  • May assist in the training and acclimatization of new employees. May be trained in continuous improvement techniques and/or involved in work teams.
  • Follows company and safety policies and procedures. Performs all work on a satisfactory level or above and in a safety conscious manner.
  • Quality, quantity and length of completion time are measured by ISO/AS and department guidelines to evaluate performance, productivity and efficiency. Documentation is evaluated by accuracy and timeliness. Inspection quality, working knowledge of database, follow-up, inventory control and knowledge is evaluated by proficiency on each apparatus/procedure and usage/follow through
  • Demonstrated skills, attitude, accuracy and quality routinely applied towards job performance, product and process specifications will be measured against current, long-term and short-term objectives, personal goals and achievements.
  • Performance will be measured by initiative, application, communication, adaptability, attendance and compliance with supervisors/company/safety policies and procedures.
  • Good administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail. Working knowledge of computer programs and data entry. Proficient in usage of office instruments including computer, copier and the like, as well as faxes, calculators and adding machines to check work. Able to accurately calculate decimal and fractional equivalents in the production process. Able to use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers and the like.
  • Able to read, interpret and understand material lists, specs, inspection standards and related instructions. Able to read, write and/or communicate the English language in an understandable manner with various levels of personnel. Requires interpersonal skills, tact and discretion. Able to understand the internal and external customers viewpoint, respectful of diversity and differences. Frequent interaction with supervisors, planners, employees and vendors.
  • Able to work from detailed request/instructions/requirements/ work orders, make decisions as to quality, quantity and resources needed. Able to prioritize and adhere to strict deadlines. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to identify and rectify problems. Able to work autonomously and as part of a team. Able to take responsibility for ones action which includes, conduct, attitudes, quality and quantity of work, communication, accuracy and timeliness, and the like. Respectful of others, courteous attitude and cooperative with co-workers. Able to deal with anger reactions and take a positive approach.
  • Competent, which is defined as currently able to perform the job, experienced, intelligent, ethical and having growth potential. Able to act decisively and quickly when necessary.
  • Requires a well-rounded knowledge of manufacturing techniques, tools and equipment, materials and plant practices normally obtained through a completion of Trade School, 1 to 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent.
  • Requires 2 years of demonstrated mathematical proficiency with a high level of mechanical aptitude.
  • Requires 1 year of customer service, administrative assistant, data entry experience and working knowledge of a wide variety of office procedures, practices, instruments and the like.
  • Must have good computer skills and acquire working knowledge of the companys computer programs and be able to interpret reports.
  • Must be 18 years of age or over. Must comply with the companys Drug, Alcohol Abuse and Firearms Policy.

(With or without the aide of mechanical devices.)

  • Approximately 30 % of the day sitting and completing documentation on a computer, 70% walking/standing on concrete floor. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the shift.
  • May be required to lift, carry or move items weighting up to 70 pounds. Repetitive body movements in the storing, lifting, distribution of product/s. Proper body mechanics and lifting techniques, required.
  • Concentration and initiative required for the selection, distribution and procuring of daily, weekly and monthly products, parts and the like.
  • Job requires frequent hands-on visual inspection and monitoring of products, orders, machines, materials, inventory and the like.
  • Must be able to work independently, have flexibility and be able to work effectively with vendors, employees, peers, managers, supervisors, office personnel and external customers in various situations.
  • Works in a manufacturing environment focused on cleanliness and safety in accordance with OSHA and company standards. Works in a climate where temperatures vary.
  • May be subject to injury from scratches, bruises, punctures or burns from equipment/materials. May be subject to manufacturing chemicals. Personal Protection Equipment is required, as needed. May be expected to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, holidays and on other shifts when necessary.
