Job Overview
Are you detail-oriented, organized, and ready to grow your career? Gourmet Foods International is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to help maintain inventory accuracy and support warehouse operations. In this role, you will be responsible for cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, quality inspections, processing customer returns, and ensuring that inventory records remain accurate across multiple systems. This position plays a key role in maintaining product integrity, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency within a fast-paced distribution environment.
What does your day look like? Some of your duties may include:
- Conduct daily cycle counts and inventory reconciliation activities
- Maintain accurate physical inventory quantities and verify inventory against system records
- Validate customer returns against return sheets, pickups, and invoices
- Research and resolve inventory discrepancies and shortages
- Utilize warehouse management and inventory systems to maintain accurate inventory records
- Learn and effectively operate Power Warehouse and Power Enterprise systems
- Verify product dates, rotation, and quality standards
- Support food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Assist with inventory audits and reporting activities
- Maintain accurate documentation related to inventory transactions and adjustments
Things you need to be able to do:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- Ability to learn and utilize multiple inventory management systems
- Ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform physical inventory tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, and warehouse environments with temperatures ranging from -5°F to 45°F
- Consistent, regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position. Employees must be able to work scheduled shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed to support business and operational needs.

- High School Diploma or GED
- College coursework or degree preferred
- Previous inventory control, cycle counting, or warehouse experience
- Experience of working with warehouse management systems
- Experience in food distribution, warehouse, or logistics environments
