Inventory Control Manager
The South Carolina Department of Administrations Division of State Agency Support Services (DSASS) is looking for an Inventory Control Manager. This position works within the State Surplus Property Program that promotes and facilitates the sustainable reuse of personal surplus property to state and local governments, qualifying non-profit entities and the public. In this role you will be responsible for administering and overseeing inventory control functions for the federal and state surplus property programs in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities of the Inventory Control Manager:
Oversee the inventory control function of Federal and State Surplus property which includes ensuring that received documents are generated from State turn-in documents (TID) and Federal 123 forms.
Oversee the reconciliation for perpetual inventory records to the physical count done by staff. Monthly reconciliation to be completed by the first week of the new month, quarterly by the end of the second week of the new quarter and annually by the start of the new fiscal year.
Prepare and reconcile GSA Form 3040 report quarterly with the Federal Warehouse Manager. Ensure GSA Form 3040 data is accurately entered into U. S. General Services Administration Access database.
Process monthly invoices for items purchased by Donees from the State and Federal teams. Coordinate with State and Federal managers of agencies to ensure outstanding invoices are properly processed.
Back up to main cashiers for Surplus Property to include customer service, answering phones and processing online payments. Provide excellent customer service on the phone and in person.
Draft and process official correspondence and maintain organized filing systems. Will be cross trained in other areas of Admin Surplus Property.
May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Additional Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of inventory control methods and procedures.
Extensive knowledge of accounting/ bookkeeping principles and practices needed in property control.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Administrative experience with a PC and experience with Microsoft excel and word software.
Ability to perform mathematical concepts.
Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.
Must possess a valid South Carolina Class D drivers license.
