Seeking an experienced Inventory Control Manager to lead inventory operations, optimize supply chain efficiency, and ensure accurate stock management across warehouse and distribution channels. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in inventory control, ERP/WMS systems, data analytics, procurement, supplier management, and process improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive inventory control strategies aligned with supply chain objectives to maximize accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversee warehouse distribution activities, including shipping & receiving, materials handling, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, AS400, or similar platforms to monitor stock levels, analyze data trends, and generate actionable insights through tools like Power BI and Tableau.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies or stock shortages, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams on sourcing strategies, pricing negotiations, and contract management to optimize purchasing processes.
  • Lead category management initiatives by analyzing sales data from Nielsen or retail management systems to inform stocking decisions and merchandising plans.
  • Manage supplier relationships and coordinate with 3PL providers for logistics optimization, ensuring timely delivery and cost control.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives by leveraging supply chain analytics and demand planning techniques to streamline operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards during materials handling activities such as forklift operation or heavy lifting tasks.
  • Prepare financial models for inventory valuation, demand forecasting, and capacity planning using SQL or other data collection tools.
Required Skills
  • Extensive experience in supply chain management, warehouse distribution, and inventory control.
  • Strong proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms (SAP, AS400), and data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Expertise in procurement processes including sourcing, negotiation, pricing strategies, and contract management.
  • Advanced data analysis skills utilizing SQL, data mining techniques, and supply chain analytics to inform decision-making.
  • Proven ability in root cause analysis and process improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Knowledge of logistics operations including shipping & receiving, materials handling, demand planning, and production planning.
  • Ability to manage supplier relationships effectively while coordinating with 3PL providers for optimal logistics solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills complemented by financial modeling capabilities for inventory valuation and forecasting purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments such as merchandising, retail management, and procurement teams.
  • Physical capability for materials handling tasks such as forklift operation or heavy lifting when necessary.
