The Office of Employee and Business Services (OEBS) provides customer service and operational support to ODJFS through five bureaus: Business Services, Civil Rights and Labor Relations, Human Resources, Multimedia Services, and Training and Educational Services. What You Will Do
The Inventory Control Specialist 2 in Business Services supports ODJFS's mission by ensuring accurate, compliant, and well‑managed inventory processes across the agency. In this role, selected candidates help maintain statewide inventories, enforce inventory‑control procedures, and support the movement, tracking, and reconciliation of essential equipment, materials, and forms used throughout ODJFS. By managing inventory efficiently and safely, this position directly contributes to operational continuity and supports high‑quality services to Ohioans.

Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Location: This position will be headquartered at 2098 Integrity Drive, Columbus, OH 43209.
Travel: Occasional travel within the state of Ohio.

The candidate, at minimum, must have the following:
Option 1:
18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in inventory control;
AND 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in electronic data processing related to inventory control;
AND 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations.

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohio's OCSEA/AFSCME Pay Range. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $23.68 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
