Inventory Control Specialist
Job Summary
The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for tracking stock levels, receiving and organizing shipments, conducting inventory counts, and ensuring materials and products are properly stored and distributed. The Specialist will ensure timely availability of materials, optimize inventory levels, and collaborate with suppliers, production, and logistics teams to support operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and manage material requirements based on production schedules and business demands
Coordinate with purchasing teams to ensure timely procurement of materials
Develop inventory control procedures to minimize shortages and excess stock
Analyze material usage trends and forecast future requirements
Work closely with warehouse, logistics, and production department
Prepare reports on inventory performance, material costs, and supply chain metrics
Resolve material-related issues impacting production or delivery timelines
Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials and products
Maintain accurate inventory records in inventory management systems
Perform regular stock counts and cycle counts
Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies
Organize and label inventory in storage areas or warehouses
Prepare and process shipping and receiving documentation
Ensure inventory accuracy and proper stock rotation
Assist with order fulfillment and material distribution
Follow company safety procedures and inventory control policies
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in inventory, warehouse, or stock control preferred
Basic computer and data entry skills
Familiarity with inventory software or ERP systems is a plus, such as: ( SAP, QAD, Oracle ERP Cloud, Oracle E-Business Suite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Infor CloudSuite, Epicor ERP, NetSuite, IFS Applications, Plex, Deacom ERP, Aptean ERP, BatchMaster ERP )
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to lift and move materials as needed
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of barcode scanners and inventory tracking systems
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Basic math and recordkeeping skills
