Job Summary

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for supporting manufacturing planning, inventory control, material flow, and production operations within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the timely availability of materials, maintains inventory accuracy, coordinates shipping and receiving activities, and supports production schedules through effective material management. The ideal candidate will have experience with inventory control, ERP/MRP systems, shipping and receiving operations, and material traceability in a manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain material availability and inventory schedules to support manufacturing and production requirements.
  • Monitor and optimize inventory storage systems and stockroom organization.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchasing, Production Control, and other departments to resolve material-related issues.
  • Research and resolve kit shortages, expedite missing materials, and support kitting operations.
  • Manage inventory transactions and ensure accurate material traceability throughout the production process.
  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits to validate quantities, revision levels, stock locations, and inventory transfers.
  • Analyze material flow processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce delivery lead times.
  • Pack, prepare, and ship outgoing materials and products using parcel and freight carriers.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify potential shortages or material constraints.
  • Coordinate corrective actions to address inventory discrepancies and material shortages.
  • Support compliance with quality standards, inventory procedures, and traceability requirements.
  • Participate in 5S, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Manage assigned projects and track progress to ensure completion within established timelines.
  • Support organizational goals, performance metrics, and production objectives.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with inventory control, material control, or production support operations.
  • Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems, preferably Deltek Costpoint or similar platforms.
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory transactions, and cycle counting.
  • Forklift operation experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Work Experience

  • Experience in inventory control, material control, stockroom operations, warehouse operations, or production support required.
  • Experience working within manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or industrial environments preferred.
  • Experience with kitting operations preferred.
  • Experience supporting production teams and manufacturing operations preferred.
  • Experience with material traceability and inventory reconciliation preferred.
  • Experience with 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint or other ERP/MRP systems preferred.

  • Position is 100% onsite in Oxnard, California.
  • 9/80 work schedule.
