Department Overview

The Materials Management department handles the supply chain operations for supplies, equipment, and mail at Children''s. This includes product selection, sourcing, contract management, purchasing, receiving, inventory management, distribution, cleaning/sterilization, medical equipment maintenance, and disposal.

Position Summary

Responsible for $13M of annual inventory transactions data entry and owner of audit trail for this activity. Provides inventory usage information to user departments, Accounting, and Revenue Management. Liaison for all organization departments for generating daily inventory orders. Acts as a central troubleshooting /customer service desk for user departments and Supply Chain staff, to coordinate critical medical supply inventory orders to support patient care.

Two year Associate''s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or computer related field preferred. Two years'' experience in database management, inventory management, or computer related field. Database maintenance and/or warehouse management software experience preferred. Knowledge of LEAN concepts preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Requires significant attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work well both individually and with a team
  • Experience with MMIS systems (PeopleSoft, Lawson, etc.)
  • Experience with High Jump or similar tracking software
  • Good communication (both written and oral)
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations for inventory management

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employees scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
