The Inventory Control Specialist (Stockkeeper) is responsible for the receipt, storage and issuance of supplies, parts and materials to all Metro Transit departments and facilities. Follows established methods and procedures in requisitioning, receipt, issuance, storage and inventory of materials, supplies and equipment to maintain the integrity of Metro Transits inventory system. The nature of work may involve considerable physical effort and heavy lifting. Candidates must have the ability to workdays, evenings, nights and weekends and at multiple locations as the work shift and location is bid on a seniority basis. This position requires two years working with the following:

What your work environment would be:
Work is performed in a warehouse setting. Position requires working with automated inventory management system. This position may require working in wet or hot, humid non-weather conditions, with fumes, airborne particles or toxic chemicals, near moving parts or equipment, and in high precarious places.

If you are new to the Metropolitan Council, you must pass a drug test (safety sensitive positions only), and a background check which verifies education, employment, and criminal history. A driving record check and/or physical may be conducted if applicable to the job. If you have a criminal conviction, you do not automatically fail. The Metropolitan Council considers felony, gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor convictions on a case-by-case basis, based on whether they are related to the job and whether the candidate has demonstrated adequate rehabilitation.
