Company Overview

Assist DC Manager/Operations Manager in maintaining the inventory. Coordinate the program, evaluate the processes and recommend modifications. Conduct analysis and publish reports relative to the measurement of the inventory control and cycle counting programs.

Job Details

WMS Functions:

  • Configures radio frequency units and base stations.
  • Maintains IS equipment inventory; troubleshoots IS-related equipment.
  • Creates new employee setups and modifies existing setups as needed.
  • Coordinates the updates and changes to the CRON Scheduler, system cleanups, backups, and reboots with
  • WMS Manager.
  • Performs system (hardware and software) upgrades as needed.
  • May research database and other systems issues; monitors WMS system through command lines.
  • Creates pick zones, dedicated and undedicated picks, location strategies, master strategies, replenishment
  • picks, and side aisle picks.
  • Runs item summary rebuilds.
  • Supports all distribution center PCs and telecommunication systems.
  • Monitors distribution center processes to ensure inventory integrity.
  • Meets and maintains safety, quality and productivity standards

Inventory Control Functions:

  • Coordinate staff, processes and procedures to support the DC in maintaining and exceeding inventory accuracy goals.
  • Analyze data and publish reports.
  • Track performance by area, determine problems and root causes, communicate results and recommend appropriate action.
  • Implement and administer all approved changes to current inventory program.
  • Coordinate functions of the statistical-based cycle counting, estimated statistical sampling, and financial cut-offs.
  • Maintain system data integrity.
  • Ensure that date-sensitive products are checked for expiration, quantities are correct, and exceptions are handled for timely movement of goods.
  • Set up and/or change the stock keeping unit (SKU) in the strategic pick location(s).
  • Ensure that all cycle counts are scheduled and counting is completed timely, accurately, and in compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Perform process or system testing as required and approved to ensure accurate adjustments and program measurement.
  • Administer slotting optimization software that includes setting of parameters and moving of product.
  • Research and resolve issues regarding variances between perpetual inventory and the general ledger.
  • Monitor and maintain product profiling for optimal distribution center efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency in cycle count process, order processing, print room operations, and the user support function.
  • Demonstrated competency in clerical functions such as receiving, shipping, cycle count, order filling, DOT, appointment scheduling, and locating trailers.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and provide solutions for system gaps.
  • Understanding and utilization of SQLs for database updates.
  • Detailed knowledge of various systems such as IBM, NCR, OCE, Catalyst, Norand/Intermec, RTS/PTL, AIX, UNIX, Disk Towers, RISC6000, and P660s, and B80s.
  • Strong PC knowledge.
  • IS Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Completion of AIX Basics and AIS System Administration coursework.
  • Minimum of two years experience working in warehouse management system environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to physically move throughout the distribution center to monitor the flow of merchandise.
  • May be exposed to extreme heat and cold, including freezers, coolers and refrigerators for extended periods of time.
  • Exposure to changing climatic conditions.
  • Exposure to dust, lighting and noise.
  • Some heavy lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling may be required to assist employees when necessary.
