Position Summary

The Inventory Coordinator I is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring materials are provided to production lines in a timely manner. This role supports medical device manufacturing operations through inventory management, production order kitting, material movements, and ERP system transactions while maintaining compliance with clean room and regulated manufacturing requirements.

The position supports the Electrophysiology Department, primarily focused on the Volt Catheter and Agilis Introducer product lines used in minimally invasive heart procedures.


Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Material Management

  • Kit medical device production orders by accurately counting, verifying, and documenting components against work orders.
  • Assign and issue materials to production orders.
  • Perform physical and system-based material movements.
  • Execute Goods Receipts transactions within the SAP ERP system.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and inventory control processes.
  • Transfer materials between warehouse and production areas as needed.
  • Support inventory accuracy and material availability for manufacturing operations.

Production Support

  • Ensure production lines receive required materials in a timely manner.
  • Support manufacturing operations in a clean room environment.
  • Follow production schedules and work order requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet production goals.

ERP & Documentation

  • Perform inventory transactions within SAP ERP.
  • Accurately document inventory activity and production support tasks.
  • Read, understand, and follow work instructions and process documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with regulated manufacturing procedures.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Properly utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Handle chemicals safely when required and after receiving appropriate training.
  • Adhere to clean room protocols and regulated manufacturing standards.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, quality, and operations teams.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with employees, customers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.
  • Work overtime as required to support business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working in a clean room manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience using SAP ERP for:
    • Material transfers
    • Inventory transactions
    • Production order support
    • Kitting activities
  • Experience assigning materials to production orders.
  • Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to read and comprehend process documents and work instructions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical device manufacturing experience.
  • Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with inventory management and production material control.
  • Windchill experience.
  • Experience with other ERP systems.
  • Experience supporting clean room production operations.

Work Environment

Clean Room Operations (65%–75% of Work)

  • Majority of work performed in a controlled clean room environment.
  • Required PPE includes:
    • Gown
    • Hairnet
    • Beard net (if applicable)
    • Shoe covers
    • Gloves
    • Safety glasses
    • Mask (optional)

Warehouse Operations (25%–35% of Work)

  • Material transfers and inventory support activities.
  • Use of pallet jacks and warehouse equipment.
  • Safety shoes required.
  • All PPE provided by the company.

Training & Onboarding

  • Approximately 5 weeks total onboarding and training.
  • Initial 4-day training program in Minnetonka (Monday–Thursday).
  • Approximately 4 weeks of on-the-job training with a senior operator.
  • Expected proficiency achieved after approximately five weeks.

Additional Notes

  • Medical device and clean room manufacturing experience are highly preferred.
  • SAP experience is considered critical and candidates should have hands-on experience with material transfers and kitting orders.
  • Candidates with production-support inventory experience are preferred over candidates whose experience is limited to warehouse picking and packing.
  • Virtual interviews will be conducted for flexibility and scheduling efficiency.
  • Preferred interview times are:
    • 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM (all candidates)
    • 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM (second-shift candidates)
  • This position supports products used in minimally invasive cardiac procedures at the Minnetonka manufacturing site.
