Summary
The Inventory Data Specialist performs data entry, updating, verifying and/or retrieving of data into/from various systems; processing; and ensuring the accuracy of information recorded.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist the Merchandise Manager and Inventory Manager with daily tasks
- Purchase and Inventory Support:
- Maintain, enter, update and verify data into internal database for use by all personnel
- Reorder products from certain vendors
- Enter warehouse orders for stores
- Enter serial numbers for product
- Create purchase orders and SKU’s for new vendors
- Verify delivery of product and handle discrepancies
- Remove shrinkage, defective and stolen merchandise out of inventory
- Upload Ace load manual orders
- Change pricing in database as needed
- Place items on clearance in database
- Track documents received and track completion dates
- Run and distribute reports
- Merge old and new sku’s
- Enter dropped merchandise to create bin tag batches
- Place special orders for all stores through the retail support center
- Manually enters add-on-items to weekly Ace orders
- Contact vendors with price discrepancies as needed
- Answer central telephone system and direct calls accordingly as needed
- Greet and direct visitors to the corporate office
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
Required:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate; Associates degree preferred
- Excellent alpha and numeric data entry skills.
- Experience in a retail environment.
- Ability to problem-solve and work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
- Exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Ability to travel to all store locations
